Beautiful Friendly and very clean Boston

When we left Plymouth we went to JFK library and then into Boston to check things out for our next day.  DO NOT drive a motorhome in Boston, this is very dangerous, there is NO parking and some streets say "cars only" or at least all the ones we needed.  We got out of Dodge and layed low in the Lynn MA Walmart parking lot and took the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) into Boston today.  A women boarded the train with a beautiful bouquet of lilacs from her yard, you could just smell them and oh so pretty.  We commented about them and she was ever so kind to give us one and we carried it around all day.

What can we say we have 65 years between us and they are paying for this trip.  The flowers are so pretty and they are everywhere.  This blog is your postcard so we hope you are not home checking your mail, just saying.

This is the public library and you can check out a maximum of 75 books per visit, inside was like a museum and they had a courtyard with fountains and grass.  We took this from the duck tour and my battery was getting low so when we were there I didn't take anymore.  (maybe I should get an extra battery, do ya think?)

John Hancock Bldg.   What makes Boston so pretty is the mix of the old and the new and it is so well done and the city is so clean.  We walked the freedom trail a 2 and 1/2 mile trail that meanders through the city and highlights various historical sites.

OK this is a bad picture but we didn't get back over here, the glass looking towers in the meridian surrounded by trees are a Holicost memorial, each tower represents 1 million Jews, there are 6 towers.  All the names are etched into the glass.

Don't tell John I posted this (not his best handsome face) but we went to Panera 'cause I needed a non-caffine soda fix.  The girl wouldn't let us pay, oh it's on the house.  This Boston is so nice, actually all the people we came into contact with and those that could see we were obviously lost were so helpful.  Great city.

The site of the Boston Marathon bombing.  Tennis shoes were slung over fences and ribbons tied with well wishes for the victims.  "Boston Strong" is the motto on T shirts and is worn by many. 

John was looking for more glasses but they only sold shoes.  He was wearing a pair of sun glasses for a good part of the trip until Megan told him there were womens glasses.  Apparently Steve Madden makes shoes too.

George Washington and John in the Commons Gardens.  This park is beautiful and they were just replanting the flower beds as the 9,000 tulips they planted were spent.

This momma goose had 8 eggs and she just kept counting them.  We wish we could be here when they hatch, but we do have about 6 little chicks waiting for us when we get back.

Well I don't think Paul Revere was at Cheers but we couldn't pass this up, we set in the bar where they filmed the TV show.  The last episode date was May 20, 1993...can it be that long ago?

Fenway Park, the Boston Red Socks were playing the Cleveland Indians, in the pouring rain.  We have never seen so much rain, we didn't stay for the game, we have been out 11 hours today but it was fun to see the park.  We saw this from the "Bleacher Bar" it is a view into the park, we just used the facilities and left with our picture.  It was very nice to get back to the motorhome, they said we can stay overnight in the lot we parked in for the MTA.  Oh and it is so much fun to see the things around Boston that the song about the "man who never returns" talks about.  Great day and tomorrow we head out for New Hampshire.  Seriously, spelling does not count and I can't get the spell check to work, I didn't know I was so bad and John is no help.  Take care and God Bless you all!
