Have you ever seen the whole Rainbow?

 

A Great Big Beautiful Rainbow.  This rainbow was unbelievably spectacular!  So Big so Bright, amazing!
Everything from this point is beyond "Somewhere over the Rainbow".  You know it took a lot of rain to make this bad boy; but lucky for us we knew it would not flood the earth, only Alabama.




Here we are, just below Anniston (no relation to Jennifer) at the Cheaha National Forest, about 60 miles from Chula Vista (where I was born, except in California).  That is where we saw the Rainbow.

We are at the highest Mt in Alabama, 2407 ft!  It was beautiful, so green and lush, it was nice to get away from the cities and hear nothing.  There were only about 8 other campers and lots of dear.

This boardwalk trail was built to accomodate wheelchairs and is about 1/2 mile long and leads to bald rock.  Things in Alabama are not as big as out west (except for rain) and the rock was about a quarter of the size of the one in our back yard.

All that water has to go somewhere.

So we took this hike, it was only about a mile but it decended 1200 ft, and was extrememly steep, John only complained when he learned the only way back was the way we came. Maybe he thought there was a bus or tram.  I bet the kids have fun in the summer here swimming and diving off the platform.  The oddest things, the way back seemed so much shorter than going and it was easier to climb then to keep from falling.  Today we will arrive at Megan's home in Athens Georgia.
